lazy days

This is my Milly moo,

She's just lolling about stretching in the sun, she loves those dried up crunchy leaves! She's so cute when it's nice weather, she loves the family being outdoors, she shows off!
So, HOT HOT today. thought I'd do a bit of writing out on the laptop. Of course life is not that simple and I couldn't see the screen with the glare from the super sunshine. So I threw my cardigan over my head and made a little 'tent' over me and laptop. It was alright for a few minutes, then I got too hot. Then my battery went dead, so I took it as a sign that my laptop doesn't like sunshine and took it inside.
So, all I managed was a comment on one blog. No other writing of any productive style at all.
And...why is it there are never any ice cubes when you need them? Just empty trays in the freezer. Why do people do that? Had to resort to chopping up an ice pop to put in my drink.
Oh well. It's sunny. I'm happy. :)
Has it been a lazy Saturday for you?

ACEOs

You may know how I like Strawberry Shortcake, the cute dolls from the 80's,
these are ACEO (Art Cards Editions and Originals) pastel drawings, little artworks of 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
Tiny portraits of two dolls, Almond Tea and Plum Puddin' :)

Another painting...at last!

I haven't painted anything in a while, too busy writing :)
However, I've just aquired a new easel, which is great, so I had to paint something to ease Mr Easel into his new home. I decided to do something that I could finish the same day (otherwise I can take months to get back to it).
So here's my red flowers, I was going to be all brave and do a black background, but wimped out at the crucial moment and went for sunny yellow!

One of my bike paintings

I've neglected this blog rather, but I have just submitted some designs to a greetings card company, so I'm all revved up again.
This is a painting that I did years ago of a Yamaha R1, it was origninally just the subject, no background, but I realised it all looked a tad plain, so I went around all my paintings putting in a surrounding background.

I quite like this one, but on another one I added this horrible murky green background for a red bike, which didn't look good at all, that one remains disgraced and unfinished in my art folder. I may try and rescue it at some point and see if anything can be done.

My little darlings

Found them!

Pic 1: pencil drawing of my little tabby Mischa

Pic 2: Millie and Mischa snoozing together outside in the sun

Hope you like them, let me know what you think either way, I can take critisism as well as a compliment :)!
I once sent these (among other kitty drawings) to several greeting card companies, but got nowhere with that idea.
That's not to say I've given up on the idea full stop, just for the time being...

I think they need a place of their own

The drawings I mean.
I'm always talking about my writing at The Write Idea, the artwork has taken a back seat.

Here is a drawing of Jack Sparrow, this one's on ebay. I love Pirates of the Carribean, watched it thinking 'another disney film hmm...' But was pleasantly surprised, fantasy adventure, bit of romance, what more can you ask for? :)

My favourite drawings are the ones of my cats, especially when they were kittens. I
try to take photographs as much as I can when they are in cute / interesting poses. They are natural performers and they just know they are gorgeous. There are no self confidence issues! I was going to upload a couple but they seem to have vanished from my pc. Hmm. Hopefully I'll find them on my pendrive...
